1. If I were a frame, I would be...
Structurally strong, simple and ready to hang on to whatever art I need to enhance.

2. The thing I like best about framing...
that it's not just about the frame. Frames enhance but they do so much more. They protect art work, they tell the viewer where to start, they support all that they contain. I also like using a mitre saw everyday. Thats pretty cool too.

3. On my days off I can be found...
What is this “days off” you speak of?

4. Hope and Feathers is all about...
Working together to find the best solution to your framing challenges. After 25 years I find joy everyday in helping someone find the right frame.

5. My favorite most memorable framing project...
The first shadowbox I ever built, my sister's wedding bouquet. The flowers have faded but the shadowbox still looks amazing!

1. If I were a frame, I would be...
A shadowbox frame, because I'm full of memories. And I'm deep, baby, real deep.

2. The thing I like best about framing...
Seeing the amazing artwork that comes into the shop daily. I love collaborating with customers during the design process, then, with my own hands, making their vision into reality.

3. On my days off I can be found...
Obsessing over my flower gardens or hiking through the woods with my spoiled little dog.

4. Hope & Feathers is all about...
Making sure every customer has a great experience when they walk into the shop. Even after more than 15 years in this profession, I genuinely love helping customers choose mats and frames that enhance and protect their art.

5. My favorite/most memorable framing project:
My grandfather served in Japan during WWII and had a drawer full of medals and mementos. I designed a shadowbox that included his medals, dog tags, photos, and a Western Union telegram he received in Nagasaki informing him that his wife had a baby, my mom!

1. If I were a frame, I would be...
Constantly moving and shifting my position through space, composing the world as I go so that when someone looks into me they will see an interesting perspective on life.

2. The thing I like best about framing...
Helping enhance and beautify whatever the customer brings us.

3. On my days off I can be found...
Doing my own artwork in my studio in Easthampton.

4. Hope & Feathers is all about...
Making beautiful presentations with care and expertise.

5. My favorite/most memorable framing project:
Repairing an old, ornate gold frame.

1. If I were a frame, I would be...
Made from reclaimed wood. Environmentally conscious with lots of unique character! The story behind the wood is what makes it beautiful.

2. The thing I like best about framing...
Framing is meditative. It is great to be creative and to successfully deal with challenges. Working with interesting artwork and design combinations never ceases to be interesting.

3. On my days off I can be found...
Gardening, illustrating, kayaking or wandering out in the woods.

4. Hope & Feathers is all about...
Community. Our customers are also our neighbors, and helping these neighbors frame means that they have a little piece of us, and vice versa.

5. My favorite/most memorable framing project:
Large-scale, brightly colored and intricate Mandala’s. The artist became a friend and so those works that allowed us to meet will always stay with me.

1. If I were a print, I would be…
A hand colored photograph. Traditional and unique all at once.

2. The thing I like best about framing and printing…
Each project captures a memory. I love getting the opportunity to properly document an intimate moment in time.

3. On my days off I can be found…
Reading, traveling, exploring with my camera, writing, or cycling.

4. Hope and Feathers is all about…
Providing excellent service to a supportive artistic community.

5. My favorite/most memorable project…
A double-sided standing frame for a greeting card. The card was especially sentimental to the customer so we chose a design that would really stand out. The finished product came out great and more importantly the customer was quite pleased with a one-of-a-kind frame design.

1. If I were a design, I would be…
Something ornate and antique, though i do have my modern and minimalist days.

2. The thing I like best about designing...
Seeing a concept come to life.

3. On my days off I can be found…
Daydreaming, traveling (or dreaming of travel), tinkering and making things, seeking out tasty nosh and fine ales.

4. Hope and Feathers is all about…
A group of smart and talented women who love to meet and work with the people who come though our door.

5. My favorite/most memorable project…
Most memorable to me are some of the amazing pieces of art that people bring in to be framed or to show in the gallery. Some are rare, some valuable, some utterly beautiful, some strange, some sweetly adorable. Every piece has a story.

1. If I were a frame ...
I would be the prettiest frame with little tufts on each corner.

2. The thing I like best about hanging out in the shop...
Spending time with my favorite people, the Hope and Feathers team! I also like the mailman, because he gives me cookies.

3. On my days off I can be found...
Laying on the couch or playing with my friends at Doggie Daycare.

4. Hope & Feathers is all about...
Eating lunch and going for walks around town.
