September’s Framing Project of the Month

Framing some forever friends

One of our favorite recent projects: a trio of beloved childhood stuffed animals — a Boston Bruins teddy bear, a penguin, and a knit bunny — preserved together in a custom shadow box frame. Each piece was carefully hand-stitched to be skipping into the future against a soft yellow mat board. The mat lining the walls of the shadow box was designed and printed in-house to complement the soft, worn textures of the toys themselves.

It’s a great example of what we love most about this work: giving well-loved keepsakes a permanent, display-worthy home that honors their history rather than hiding it.

Senescence: New Original Paintings
by Lena Mac

Join us for Arts Night Out Opening Reception Friday, October 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM

About Lena Mac: Lena Mac’s work explores the felt but unseen dimensions of personal healing and transformation. Deeply inspired by the immense beauty of the natural world, she creates portals into a dream-space that exists in the abstract and symbolic. Guided by the belief that human beings are part of nature, not separate from it, she approaches her art through a worldview rooted in hope and mysticism. About Senescence: Senescence features works that contemplate natural cycles of life and death. Bones turn to wildflowers, butterflies dance vividly for their very brief existences, and sleeping rabbits practice death while alive through hibernation. The works explore an acceptance of mortality and seek to create an equilibrium that is fundamentally true. See all Arts Night Out’s upcoming events here
