May’s Framing Project of the Month
Three Butterflies
These three butterflies each lived in their own separate frames — until now. We carefully removed each one, built custom mounts to position them just right, and arranged them together on a deep green suede mat inside a rustic black shadowbox frame. Watching them transform from individual specimens into a single, cohesive display is exactly the kind of work we love.
Framing delicate objects is one of our specialties. Every piece gets a custom attention — nothing generic, nothing off the shelf. If it’s not alive (at least not anymore), we can probably frame it.

We live in a shifting world, each of us stitching together our life story from fleeting moments of illumination and grace. Through the practice of painting, I consider this journey. Painting is always a new beginning. Raised in Amherst, I lived in other regions for roughly twenty years but my roots were always here. I was drawn back to the silent companionship of hills, the surprise and elation of water, the clouds that lift, unexpected openings, the sight of livestock in a field. To paint is to pay attention to a place. Painting it, I ponder a relationship that I have taken for granted. The gestures of the landscape are iconic. I seek images of the region that provide for me a touchstone amidst change. Painting becomes a dialogue between the foundation of shapes and shadow and the movement of line and light. Color is the language. There is a story to tell.

Into the Mystic

Artist Statement:
This moment on Earth signals an axial shift; an inescapable point when nature responds to humankind’s folly in her own spectacular way. As we crave refuge and hope, I envision alternate cosmos – spheres and colorful foliate forms crop up as universal rhythms in my work. My creative process is ongoing – involving eyes, mind, heart, and hands. Color stirs my spirit – – in nature, in art, and in everyday life. The work in this show includes original hand-pulled monotypes, collage, handmade paper and artists’ books.
About Elisa Lanzi:
Elisa Lanzi is an artist and writer working at the intersection of printmaking and book arts. Elisa’s artwork is exhibited nationally and internationally and she is active in the arts community – curating, giving talks and teaching workshops. Her writing has appeared in Ovunque Siamo- New Italian American Writing. Outside of the studio she enjoys herb gardening and cooking with friends and family. A newly restored watercolor by Richard Yarde
We were up for the challenge of framing this large scale watercolor for a show featuring Richard Yarde’s work.

August’s Framing Project of the Month
It’s a Love Story – in a Frame!
We are thrilled with the shadowbox frame we created, which beautifully displays the love notes and photos this couple saved from high school. It was an honor to arrange and frame these sentimental pieces, creating a unique symbol of their enduring love.
